Abstract:
With digital technologies rapidly transforming our social and cultural practices, there are not only implications for the teaching of history, but – maybe even more so – the concept of media itself. This article aims at examining the relation between media and historical learning. Expanding a prior proposal, a model is introduced which focuses on the functions a respective medium serves for the learner. According to this, both analog and digital media can function as objects and products of historical learning.
